It's has been a long time since I've posted. We moved to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia in July 2010. Love the area, love the fact we are about 20 minutes from the ocean, which I'm going to this weekend. We were lucky and got our house the same day Mike signed in which beats living in a hotel for two weeks with 3 people a cat and a dog in one room.
A few weeks ago I received a phone call from someone I had never met in person but she needed help. I didn't think twice about packing a quick bag and driving 3 hours and staying with her for the weekend. Her husband went into cardiac arrest and had it not been for 2 fellow soldiers starting CPR on him he would not be here today. I now know what my dad and husband mean when they say "the comradity in the military is like nothing else". I just got in my car drove straight to the hospital and waited in the ICU waiting room until she came out from seeing her husband and we cried, hugged and prayed. I know for some people it is hard to believe how you can be that close to someone you have never met, but it is possible. I feel now that she and I have a special bond now and I am so thankful that her husband is on the road to recovery.
I have started on line classes through Jefferson College back in MO. Dang you tend to forget a lot after so many years. Kids don't put off college!! It's to dang hard when you get older..
We also have an addition to our family. Mike got a male Chihuahua and named him Buddy. He isn't as tiny as Peanut is and he is a challenge to say the least. Him and Peanut are still feeling each other out as Peanut is very protective over me and does not like it when Buddy gets on my lap. They will eventually like each other.
